What is FOREX?
You may be more aware of FOREX than you think. All this term actually refers to is the FOReign Exchange Market and the buying and selling of currencies.
The FOREX that we know of today began in the early 1970’s when worldwide countries switched from the Bretton Woods system to a floating exchange rate – a change that has certainly made a difference to their trading.
To date FOREX is one of the largest liquid financial markets in the world trading $1-$1.5 trillion a day between banks, central banks, corporations, governments, speculators and other financial institutions.
Okay, but how does it work?
The goal to succeeding in this niche is to successfully buy one currency and resell it at a better price.
Unlike the NYSE - where foreign currencies are centralised on an exchange - with FOREX it is much simpler.
Through telecommunications, trading can globally take place 24 hours from 00:00 GMT on Monday to 10pm GMT on Friday, using all major currencies. US Dollars, Euros, Pound Sterling, Japanese Yen… whether you are looking to pay employees on the other side of the world or are interested in speculating, FOREX can give you that freedom.
For many investors though, they prefer to speculate currency prices rather than buy. All they need is $500 to begin with and using marginal trading they can get a credit line and monitor their potential gains and losses.
Marginal trading: “Trading done through borrowed capital and without a real money supply.
Who is involved?
Like we mentioned above there are a number of different businesses/individuals involved in the day-to-day transactions of the foreign exchange market and each have got their own level of access.
The inter-bank market for example is positioned at the top, and has access to spreads unknown to players outside of the inner circle.
The most important ones you need to be aware of though are the following:
• Inter Banks/ Banks – these bad boys cater for the majority of commercial turnover and speculative trading that occurs every day. From trading on behalf of their customers to trading for the bank’s own account, billions of dollars are traded here daily.
• Commercial Companies – an integral player in this market, a lot of their financial activities come from seeking foreign currency exchanges to pay for goods and services at their global offices. More often than not they choose to trade in fairly small amounts and make little impact on market rates during the short term.
Central Banks – Similar to the Bank of England, Central Banks use their foreign exchange reserves to help stabilise the market. Whether it is controlling money supply, inflation, or interest rates, alterations in their rates can impact upon FOREX.
Hedge Funds – Between 70% - 90% of transactions on the foreign exchange are speculative. To explain this process more clearly, all hedge funding actually involves is people/institutions who have got no plan of taking delivery of the currency after they have bought/ sold it on the exchange. Instead their purpose is to speculate over the movement of that currency and the impact it will have.
Investment Management Funds – these usually involve firms who manage large accounts on behalf of their clients and whom use the foreign exchange market to help them control transactions in foreign securities.
These can either be pension funds or endowments.
Foreign Exchange Brokers – There are 2 types of retail brokers: retail foreign exchange brokers and market makers. Through them retail traders can participate in FOREX.

More and more people are realising that blogging is one of the best ways to start your own online business. It requires minimal start up costs, you can build an impressive and loyal readership over time and once you know how to monetize your blog it can also bring in a decent income that will keep on coming even on the days when you don’t update your blog.
There are several ways to set up a blog online. You could use Wordpress, Blogger, or another free site that hosts your blog for you; or alternatively you can set up your own blog under your own domain name. If you want to make serious money from blogging, you must have complete control over your blog – and that’s something the free blogging accounts won’t give you. You’ll be bound by their terms and conditions and that usually includes not being able to actively promote anything. There are plenty of people who have established a blog only to have it removed without notice some weeks or months later.
It will cost you a few dollars to buy your domain name and set up a web server that will host your blog, but the benefits will far outweigh the cost involved. It can literally be as little as $20 a year we’re talking about here – and that buys you total freedom.
Once you’re ready to set your blog up you’ll need to choose a good theme and layout for it. You might find one that relates to your choice of subject (more on that in a moment) or else there might be one you just like the look of. But there are thousands of templates available for you to use – a simple search on Google will reveal the ones that will be best suited to your topic.
But perhaps the most important question is what you are going to blog about. The whole world is your oyster here – some people blog about their lives in general; some blog about their jobs; some blog about their hobbies; some tell the world about their kids and what it’s like to be a parent, and still others blog about the weird world of celebrities. But whatever you choose to blog about it needs to be something you are passionate about. Don’t forget, you are going to be writing about this topic several times a week, and if you don’t have the enthusiasm for it, that will show in your posts – and no one else will have the enthusiasm to read them.
Okay – so you’ve got your subject. Now you have to start writing your blog posts. If you take a look at just a few of the blogs already online, you’ll notice that the length of the posts varies a lot. Some people only write a paragraph or two each time, but you’ll get better results if you go for something a little longer than this. Around 400 to 500 words makes for a good post with a lot of information in it; some people write hugely long posts that are thousands of words long and could be called an e-book by another name.
But you can also take the format of this blog, by posting a short blog entry which leads into a longer article. This has the benefit of highlighting a lot of blog posts on the home page of the site, and people can then click through and read the ones they like the most.
You should remember however that there are no real rules when it comes to blogging. Over time you will naturally find what works for you, and your blog will settle down into a nice pattern that both you and your readers will enjoy. You’ll find your character and personality will start to come through in your writing too; don’t fight against this as it is one of the hallmarks of blogging. It is, after all, a personal account of an individual’s life and experiences, so show people what you’re made of! You’ll get a more loyal – and bigger – audience like this.
So you’ve got your blog up and running and you’re posting to it on a regular basis. The next step is to get it in front of as many interested eyeballs as possible.
One great way to do this is to submit it to as many of the social bookmarking sites as possible. You can also join social networking sites and build a profile which contains a link to your blog. Other no cost ways to generate traffic include writing free articles for article directories with a link to your blog at the end, and creating signatures at the end of any posts you make to internet forums, and also in all the emails you send out. When you really start thinking about it, you don’t actually need to spend anything to generate plenty of traffic.
All we need to do now is monetize the blog itself. You’ll want to generate some money from all the visitors you’ll start getting, and there are plenty of ways to do this easily. Google Adsense is probably the most well known method – you can join the program for free and display contextual ads that your visitors will be interested in to maximise your click through rate.
There are also a handful of websites which give you the opportunity to get paid for each blog post you make on a specific subject. Pay Per Post and Review Me are two such examples, and they will pay you a certain amount of money to review a product or website for the owner. In a similar vein you can also review and recommend other people’s products through affiliate links inserted into your blog posts, and earn money on commissions earned through any purchases people make.
And once you’re more established you can offer ad space on your blog too, and charge a fee for both classified and display ads if you wish. What could be better than setting your own price?
But there is one final step you can take with your blog if you enjoy a change of scene every now and again. You can sell your blog! Once it is established and has plenty of revenue and traffic, you can usually sell it for ten times its monthly revenue.
And then, you can start all over again with a whole new subject!
So that’s it – profitable blogging in a nutshell. If you have any questions feel free to leave your comments in the form below. And once you’ve done that, get out there and get started building your first blog today.

Why do you consider starting an internet business? Probably because you have heard stories of lots of self-made millionaires in the net, and may be very well have been blown away by many of those ‘catchy’ advertisements, who promise you income levels so attractively. Is this possible to achieve? Most of the time, ‘no’, and very few people could achieve and run a successful business online. Advertisements would tell you that you can work so little and earn so much by just ‘using the internet’, and here’s a misconception. Whether it’s online or offline (real world), if you start a business and run successfully, and if the business is run in a good organized manner, your workload is much less. It’s regardless of whether the business is an online or offline business. So the first big point to note is that you must work very hard initially to setup a good internet business, as with any ‘real’ business.
I don’t want to let you down by saying all these cold facts. In fact, you’ll shout at me ‘boring’, but I will make your hopes realistic and will guide you to setup a good business. So read the article thoroughly and completely, regardless of its boring nature. I don’t want you to promise unimaginative income levels, but I will be realistic though it might sound boring for you. Don’t stop reading in half, saying its boring, and you’ll appreciate you did if you read the article in full before taking any action that cost you.
Different Options
There are so many different options to do business on the internet. Below are some possibilities.
1) Buy some items for wholesale prices and sell them on eBay at a markup. You can go through eBay help and community pages for more information on what and how to sell there. There is a lot of work involved and you must also face big competition. If you have your own unique product or service, it could be a different story and you are just a step away from taking it online.
2) Market other people’s products. The best place to start is Clickbank.com, where you can find so many items listed by sellers, and all you have to do is get a customized link and market the link. For many items, you get about $10 per sale. For example, if you post a free ad on USClassifieds.com website about an acne product that sells for about $25, you will get about $10 per sale and a check will be mailed to you periodically. You can find more information at Clickbank.com. I must warn you here not to waste any money on advertising affiliate products until you are comfortable with what you are doing. This field is haunted with competition.
3) You can make money by giving away free offers. Give a free E-book that tells people how to start a business online and make a up-sell later that presents the opportunity to sell information and videos on starting a business.
Digital Products
The most profitable and successful kind of online business is selling digital products or ‘ebooks’. If you are unaware of what an eBook is, it’s the online version of the so called ‘books’, which mostly come in PDF format. If you are still confused, think of it as an online book.
Why is it most profitable? There are many reasons.
1) No inventory charges 2) Zero cost duplication 3) Zero cost delivery
For example, if you have a hot selling eBook, you can make as many copies as you want and sell online. But there are some factors that could make the game complicated.
1) High advertising costs 2) Creating a ‘hot-selling’ book 3) Finding good marketing channels and getting the required skills for doing so. 4) you can go with E-bay
